This page states, in plain terms, where the money comes from. It is written to meet the United States Federal Trade Commission's expectation that material connections be disclosed clearly and conspicuously, and it is deliberately blunt.
The Bot Desk is funded by display advertising through Google AdSense. Advertisers bid for space through Google. They do not know which article they will land next to before they bid, they cannot buy coverage, and they have no route to the person who writes these pages. No advertiser has ever seen an article before publication.
Every ad on this site is labelled Advertisement above the unit.
As of September 3, 2026, this site contains no affiliate links and earns no commission from any
vendor. Every outbound link in every article goes to a vendor's own documentation, pricing
page or terms, with no tracking parameter attached, and carries rel="nofollow".
That may change. Affiliate programmes exist for most of the platforms covered here, and joining one would be a legitimate way to fund the site. If it ever happens, three rules apply and they are not negotiable:
We do not publish sponsored posts, paid reviews, guest posts or link insertions. We do not accept free accounts, review units, trips or gifts from vendors. Nobody pays to appear in the platform directory and nobody pays to rank higher in it.
Every price, plan limit and licence term is read off the vendor's own page and dated in the article. We do not operate a testing lab, and so we never write that we tested something. Where an article describes how a product behaves, it cites that product's documentation. Where a number cannot be verified from a primary source, the article says the number is not published rather than repeating one from elsewhere.
Mistakes get corrected on the page, not quietly deleted. If you find one, write to hello@thebotdesk.com.
