This page explains what happens to data when you read https://thebotdesk.com. It is written to satisfy the EU General Data Protection Regulation, which applies because the publisher is established in Spain, and it includes the notices California residents are entitled to receive.
The data controller is Ángel Ruiz Puertas, Carrer Guerau de Liost, 11-15, 08915 Badalona (Barcelona), Spain. Contact: hello@thebotdesk.com.
Nothing. There is no account system, no newsletter, no comment box and no contact form. The contact page opens your own email client. If you write to us, we hold your message and your email address for as long as it takes to answer you, on the legal basis of our legitimate interest in replying to correspondence.
Three third parties receive data when a page loads. We do not control what they do with it, so we link their own policies rather than paraphrasing them.
| Who | What they receive | Why | Their policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Netlify | IP address, browser user agent, page requested | Serving the site; standard server logs | Netlify privacy |
| Google AdSense | IP address, device and browsing signals, advertising cookies where you consent | Selecting and measuring the ads on the page | How Google uses data |
| Google Fonts | IP address | Delivering the typefaces the site uses | Google Fonts privacy |
Advertising cookies are set only after you consent through the banner: that is consent under GDPR article 6(1)(a). Delivering the pages and the fonts requires no consent, because a server cannot send a file without receiving the request; those server logs rest on legitimate interest under article 6(1)(f).
Google and Netlify are United States companies and process data outside the European Economic Area. Both rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and on standard contractual clauses. The current status of that framework is published on the European Commission's site.
If you are in the EEA or the UK you may request access to your personal data, correction, erasure, restriction and portability, and you may object to processing. Where processing rests on consent you may withdraw it at any time — use the Change cookie settings link in the footer. Write to hello@thebotdesk.com to exercise any of these.
You may also complain to a supervisory authority. In Spain that is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos.
We do not collect personal information directly and we do not sell personal information for money. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, allowing an advertising partner to use browsing data for cross-context behavioural advertising may nonetheless count as a "sale" or a "share". You can refuse it: choose Do not consent in the cookie banner, or reopen it later with the Change cookie settings link in the footer. That choice is honoured for advertising on this site. We use personal information for no purpose other than serving and measuring advertising, and we do not knowingly process the data of anyone under 16. To make a request under the CCPA, write to hello@thebotdesk.com.
This site is written for people running businesses. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Any change to this policy is published on this page, with the date above updated.
